Finley Huff Jr.
May 27, 1933 ~ September 3, 2026
Finley Huff Jr. was born and raised in Alva, Kentucky, and raised in Pathfork, along with seven sisters and two brothers. He graduated from Black Star High School in Pathfork in 1950. After high school, Finley joined the Air Force in 1952. He was stationed at Thule Air Base in Greenland for two years. He finished his military duty at Castle Air Force Base which brought him to Merced, CA in 1956.
Finley attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, CA, earning a bachelor’s degree in Theology. Finley ministered for a short time in Merced, then pursued a career in construction for many years working for Frank Souza construction company.
In 1978 Finley and Barbara Dutra were married on May 6, and his new adventure of farming began at B & D Dairy in Hilmar, CA.
Finley’s favorite hobby was golfing. His golf clubs were always in his truck. There wasn’t a golf course in the area he did not attempt to golf with his golfing buddies, Duane, Frank, Pete and Bill at such courses as Stevinson Ranch, St. Stans, Pheasant Run, Diablo Grande, Turlock CC and many more. His biggest challenge and joy was to golf at Pebble Beach with his son Eric and daughter Jennifer on his 80th birthday.
Finley and Barbara enjoyed traveling with friends, especially enjoying their trips to Portugal, Cancun, the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Finley was passionate about being a parent to Leisa, Kimberly, Jennifer, and Eric, but his ultimate joy was being Papa to Hayden and Reece.
Finley Huff Jr. is survived by his wife of 48 years Barbara, his daughters Leisa, Kimberly, and Jennifer, his son Eric (Christina) and grandchildren Hayden and Reece, and sisters Doris, Joyce and Carolyn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Finley Huff Sr., sisters Kathleen, Lucy, Geraldine, Helen, and brothers Jerry and Clay.
Services will be held at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, CA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10 from 5-7pm. Funeral will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, September 11 at 10am with burial to be held at North Hilmar Cemetery.
