Gail Shatswell, lovingly known as “Duda”, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning August 27, 2023 at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Alloween Smith, grandson David Shatswell and daughter-in-law Nancy Shatswell, cousins Jacqueline Carnahan and Jill Borgstorf.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years and 20 days, Richard “Pa” Shatswell. She is the loving mother of Dennis (Cheryl) Shatswell, Denice (Tom) Mendoza and Darrin (Janna) Shatswell.
“Duda” is the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the sweet and loving cousin of Jim Hager, Shirley Mahana, Gary Carnahan, Vickie Graham, John Carnahan, Jim Carnahan and Judy Kahler. She leaves behind her best friend, Jeanette Pierce. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives, friends, her church family and her loving healthcare nurses and aides, too many to mention by name, but sincerely loved by “Duda”.

Graveside service Wednesday, September 6 at 10am at Denair Cemetery.
Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, September 16 at 11am at Connecting Point Church in Denair.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Gail’s name to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Connecting Point Church, or Covenant Hospice Foundation.
