Guillermina Vega June 26, 1952 - March 2, 2022

June 1952 – March 2022

In loving memory of Guillermina Vega, a beautiful soul, a caring and loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2022 in Turlock, California at the age of 69.

Guillermina or Mina, as most may have known her, was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico on June 26th, 1952. She moved to Santa Maria, California in 1976 and resided there until 1984, when she moved to the Central Valley. She lived in several of the small towns in Stanislaus County including Hughson and Denair, ultimately ended up in Turlock where she spent her final days.

She took on various seasonal jobs during her stay in the valley, ultimately ending up at Lowe’s doing housekeeping. She enjoyed working that job as she met so many people that called her “mama” and embraced her for what her love language was, food.  Mom’s way of gathering her loved ones and friends was always around food. Her saying was, “Where there is food, there is always a place for one more.” She was kind, giving, and very loving.  Once you were her friend, she treated you like family. Some of her favorite past times were spending time with family watching Raider games, shopping, cuddling with her dog Travieso, and enjoying play time with her great granddaughter.

She was preceded by her father Mariano Vega Sr., her mother Rosa Marin, and her brothers Humberto and Mariano Vega Jr.

Guillermina is survived by her children, Claudia Gil (Vega) of Turlock, Alma (Angel) Valdovinos of Turlock, Ruben Valdovinos of Atwater, and Cynthia Nunez of Modesto; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Funeral Service will be at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00pm
