José Jesús García Medina December 13, 1954 - August 20, 2026

December 13, 1954 – August 20, 2026

José Jesús García Medina, lovingly known to his family and friends as Chuy or Jesús , was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, humility, and love.

Jesús was born on December 13, 1954, in Michoacán, Mexico, to Agapita García and Elieser Medina. From a young age, he was known as a hardworking, humble, and strong man. He was a man of few words, but he never needed many words to show who he was. His actions, sacrifices, and willingness to help others spoke for him.

At 17, Jesús moved to Tijuana, Mexico, where he completed his military service and became a routine blood donor. He was never afraid of hard work or learning something new. Throughout his life, he worked many different jobs and even owned an opal lamp shop and a taco stand before eventually making his home in central California.

At 24, Jesús began building his own family, marrying for the first time and becoming a father to four children: Lorena, Jesús, Crystal, and Evett.

Jesús eventually fulfilled one of his greatest dreams: becoming a truck driver. Through determination and hard work, he became an owner-operator and built a career he was proud of, working until he retired at the age of 60.

Family was always at the heart of Jesús’s life. He was kind, generous, and always willing to help someone in need. He cared for his mother throughout her life and became her primary caregiver during her final two years.

In 2011, Jesús met his great love, Raquel Pérez. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and beautiful memories. They married on October 29, 2022, and traveled together to Michoacán, Alaska, Disneyland, and Mexicali. Jesús became deeply loved by Raquel’s extended family and was a proud godfather to Gabriel, Rosaura, and Bianca.

Jesús was a man who showed his love through his actions. He worked hard, gave generously, cared deeply, and helped without expecting anything in return. His quiet strength, humility, and unwavering love for his family will forever be part of his legacy.

Jesús was preceded in death by his parents, Agapita García and Elieser Medina; his brother, Francisco Medina; his sisters, Mariana Medina, María Guadalupe Medina, María Medina, and Lupe Medina; his son, Jason Medina and great granddaughter Valentina Pearson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Raquel Pérez; his children, Lorena Medina, Jesús Medina, Crystal Medina(Omar Morales), Evett Rucker(Curtis Rucker), Ana Parada Sousa(Brenden Sousa), and Alejandra Parada; his grand children, Xaivier Jones, Saydie Jones, Keyanna Jones, Delyla Flores, Adam Medina, Ricardo Vargas, Mario Plasencia, Marlene Vargas, Izaiahs Plasencia, Alexander Vargas, Pursaiuhs Morales, Jossiah Saucedo, Jocelyne Grant, Serenity Grant, Adonis Allen, Havannah Rucker, Brice Rucker and Phoenix Sousa; his great grand children,Izmallel Castrajon, Zuriah Castrajon, Santanna Guia, Valenna Hensley his sisters, Edelmira Medina, María Asunción Medina De La Cruz, Rita Herrera, María Medina De La Cruz, and Guadalupe Medina Gómez; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
