Maria Buenrostro was born in San Martin Mexico in June of 1941.  She was one of two sisters.  Our mom had to work hard to study to become a grade school teacher.

After my dad courted her they fell in love and he decided to make his way to California to provide a better life together.  Our mom was a homemaker and wonderful mother.  She took pleasure in the simple things in life, making a loving home for four sons, spending time with her family and grandkids, finding simple excuses to cook and get the family together as much as possible. Our parents’ biggest joys are the grandkids, always making them laugh and smile with pride.

She also enjoyed visiting with our relatives in Mexico, always reminding us where we come from, our home town in San Martin, Jalisco.  She instilled in us that family and friends were the most important things in life.

Simple family activities brought mom joy.
