Ventura De La Cerda Jr. passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the age of 74 in the presence of his family. He was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, and was proud of it. He was a hardworking man who loved to take care of his family. He enjoyed dancing to Mexican music. He loved to eat and make sure that everyone was fed. He would make burritos for his co-workers and made his own world-famous chilé, which wasn’t for the faint of heart. He had a great sense of humor and was an absolute flirt. The Dallas Cowboys was his team along with the San Francisco Giants. He loved the freedom of the road on his trips.
Ventura was preceded in death by his wife Lupe De La Cerda, his son Ventura De La Cerda III, and his parents Ventura and Marcelina De La Cerda. Ventura is survived by his daughter Dennia Martinez, son Ruben De La Cerda, his grandchildren Antonio De La Cerda, Felicia Martinez, Margarita Martinez, Jennie Martinez-Aguelo, Yazmine Alvarez, RJ De La Cerda, and Aubriana De La Cerda, and his great grandchildren Angellyse Carreno and Angel Carreno.
He was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, He will be missed.
Visitation will be held on September 2, 2022 at Allen Mortuary from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, with a rosary to follow. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Davis Park Church of Christ, 901 W Rumble Rd, Modesto, CA 95350.
