Jack Lackey was born in San Francisco, California to Emanuel Lackey and Edith Cohen on February 10, 1927.
He passed away at the age of 98 on April 23, 2025, in Modesto, California.
Raised in Los Angeles, California Jack attended most schools in Los Angeles including California State University, Los Angeles graduating and receiving his bachelor’s degree.
In 1945 he joined the United States Army where he served in World War II. After being honorably discharged from service, he relocated to the Bay Area in Northern California in 1960, managing city programs for San Leandro and Concord.
In 1979, Jack moved to Modesto, California where he became a tennis coach for 25 years for Modesto City Schools and the California State University, Stanislaus.
Jack leaves behind his son Dan Lackey of Colorado, 2 daughters Kim and Sue Lackey, both of California and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Adele Lackey, his wife Joan Evelyn Lackey (d. 2009) and wife Carol Anne Kabella Lackey (d. 2022).
