Silvestre Valencia, 75, of Aguililla, Michoacán de Ocampo, México, passed away on June 11, 2025 at his home in Turlock, CA. The Valencia family invites you to join them for the services in remembrance of his life. A vigil will take place at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m; a rosary will be recited and live-streamed at 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart in Turlock on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 10 a.m. All services will be in Spanish.
As eldest of 6 siblings, after the death of his father in 1970, Sylvestre lived a life committed to providing for his family. He immigrated from Mexico to the U.S., and lived throughout California until he came to Turlock in 1989. Silvestre was a hard working and creative restaurant owner and chef. He owned many businesses in Merced and Stanislaus counties, most notably, El Antojito Mexican Restaurant (opened in 1982 in Merced, and Turlock in 1986 until 2002) and Viva Taco Bus (Turlock, 2003 to 2018). He had many business adventures with his brother Jose Luis, which carry with them many cherished moment for them, the Valencia family, and our community.
Silvestre carried a sly smile and quick humor for those around him. His life imparted many lessons to the family he left behind. He loved cooking not only for his customers but also for his family and friends. He enjoyed making food and bringing people together and working in his garden. He looked forward to more adventures in retirement life.
He is survived by his siblings Amparo and husband Felipe, Alfonso, José Luis, Alicia and husband Dino, Rosa, and Rebeca; children Silvestre Jr., Alex and wife Kelly, and Debbie and husband Jason; grandchildren Claudia and husband Alan, Joel, Aikman, Madden, and Keegan; great-grandchildren, Navina, Aylah, Everlee, Joel Jr., Yazmin; nieces Elizabeth and husband Richard, Vivian, Vanessa, Deena and husband Charles, Monique and husband James, Aida, Esther, and Rebeca; and nephews Alfonso Jr. and wife Doris, Juan, Loren and wife Ashley, Vincent and wife Mary, Manuel, and Javier. Preceded in death by his parents Silvestre Valencia and María Luisa Moreno, son Victor, and nephew David.

La familia Valencia les invita a unirse con ellos para los servicios en memoria de su vida. Como el mayor de 6 hermanos, después de la muerte de su padre en 1970, Sylvestre vivió una vida comprometida a proveer para su familia. Emigró de México a los EE.UU., y vivió en toda California hasta que llegó a Turlock en 1989. Silvestre era un dueño de restaurante y chef muy trabajador y creativo. Fue dueño de muchos negocios en los condados de Merced y Stanislaus, sobre todo, El Antojito Mexican Restaurant (abierto en 1982 en Merced, y Turlock en 1986 hasta 2002) y Viva Taco Bus (Turlock, 2003 a 2018). Le sobreviven sus hermanos Amparo y esposo José Felipe, Alfonso, José Luis, Alicia y esposo Dino, Rosa y Rebeca; sus hijos Silvestre Jr., Alex y esposa Kelly, y Debbie y esposo Jason; sus nietos Claudia y esposo Alan, Joel, Aikman, Madden y Keegan; sus bisnietos Navina, Aylah, Everlee, Joel Jr, y Yazmin; sobrinas Elizabeth y esposo Richard, Vivian, Vanessa, Deena y esposo Charles, Monique y esposo James, Aida, Esther, y Rebeca; y sobrinos Alfonso Jr. y esposa Doris, Juan, Loren y esposa Ashley, Vincent y esposa Mary, Manuel, y Javier. Predecido en la muerte por sus padres Silvestre Valencia y Maria Luisa Moreno, hijo Victor, y sobrino David.
