Fernando “Yoshi” Barajas Martinez, age 25, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, in Modesto, California.

Born on November 9, 1999, in Turlock, California, Yoshi lived the fast life. A proud Marine veteran and dedicated lineman, Yoshi was known not only for his energy—what could only be described as “Yoshiness”—but for his relentless loyalty to those he loved and held close.

Yoshi wasn’t big on school, but he was a professional nonetheless. He worked hard—got up early when he had to, and didn’t when he didn’t have to. And he played even harder. Always thinking about his next move, he lived by two rules: his daughter Alayna came first, and second—whatever he was getting into that night. No matter what he did, he carried his family in his heart.

He’ll always be the little kid asking, “Can I play Nintendo?”—a reminder of the electric, playful spirit that never left him. Whether on a bike, with his crew, or just hanging with loved ones, Yoshi brought the same wild humor, energy, and fierce loyalty everywhere he went.

Yoshi is survived by his daughter Alayna; his loving mother, Maria; his four brothers, Antonio, Sergio, Cesar, and Everardo; his many nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Patricia. He also leaves behind a community of family, friends, fellow veterans, and his motorcycle family. He is preceded in death by his father, Abraham Martinez.

Yoshi is forever—wild, loving, stubborn, loyal—and he will never be forgotten.
