Linda Faye (Faythe) Singer, daughter of the late Ervin Singer and Margaret Allen, was born on July 1, 1948, in Shawano, Wisconsin. As a teenager, she and her family moved to Northern California, where she spent most of her life in Modesto.
She graduated from Davis High School in Modesto and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco. This year marked the 45th anniversary of her graduation. Faythe built a successful career as a Human Resources executive, working at Modesto Junior College, the Modesto Bee newspaper, and most recently with CareOne Home Health and Hospice, Inc.
Always impeccably dressed, Faythe was an active member of the Kiwanis Club, where she enjoyed volunteering and supporting community events. An avid gardener, her greatest joy came from spending time with her granddaughters. Whether it was weekly lunch dates, daily phone calls, or her thoughtful acts of kindness, she delighted in watching them grow into young women. Every room in her home was filled with photographs—her sons, their families, and a complete visual history of her granddaughters from infancy to adulthood.
Faythe passed away on Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, at the age of 77, after a short illness. Surrounded by loved ones, she left this world deeply cherished. Known for her infectious laugh, she brought joy to everyone who knew her. Her ashes will be held in pendants worn by her granddaughters and later spread among the wildflowers of Northern California in the spring.
Her beautiful life will be forever remembered by her children: Shane Dobbins of Escalon, CA, and Mitchell Dobbins of El Dorado Hills, CA; her beloved granddaughters, Sarafina and Annaliese Dobbins of Escalon, and Amelie Dobbins of El Dorado Hills; her sisters, Sandra Wehmeyer of Shawano, WI, Shelly Craft of Dublin, CA, and Beverley Rubow of Wausau, WI; her late sister, LeAnne Tagliapietra; her brother, Gary Allen of Dublin, CA; her daughters-in-law, Gorrette Dobbins of Escalon and Kristen Dobbins of El Dorado Hills; her partner of six years, Don Ahrens of Modesto, CA; as well as her loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this year among family and friends. No additional services are planned.
