Karen Khinoo, age 71, of Turlock, passed away on Thursday Morning, September 25, 2025, at her residence. She was born January 23, 1954, in Honolulu Hawaii, the daughter of Bennie and the late Joyce Gatto. The family is deeply saddened by her sudden death.
Karen had many professions throughout her life. She worked at the Video Box in Turlock which was considered the first VHS shop in Stanislaus County. She also worked at the Yogurt Tree, arguably the first of its kind in Turlock. Her favorite job was with the Turlock Unified School District as a yard duty at the Junior High School.
Karen loved her grandchildren, whether it was watching them play water polo, soccer, dance recitals, school plays or just spending time in the backyard pool. She enjoyed spending time on the beach with her husband and dog Bo in Monterey while watching the dolphins swim along the coastline.
Karen is survived by her father Bennie Gatto of Lathrop, her husband David Khinoo of Turlock, her brother Jim (Sandy) Gatto of Visalia, her sons Clint (Rochelle) Faria and Paul Faria, her niece and nephew, Jimmy (Kacy) Gatto and Vanessa (Shane) Williams. She was a beloved and cherished grandmother to Jade Cancino, Ava and Beni Faria and a great-grandmother to Monroe. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. She will always be remembered for her generosity, touching so many lives with her warmth and unselfish love.
