Roger Feathers, of Denair, California, entered into eternal rest on October 4, 2025, at the age of 87.
He was born on February 10, 1938, and lived a full and faith-filled life devoted to his family, friends, and church community. Roger was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life reflected his deep faith, generosity, and love for others.
Roger was born in Weleetka, Oklahoma and at the age of 10 moved with his family to Hughson, California where he graduated from Hughson High School and met the love of his life, Margery (Libby) Feathers. A first-generation college graduate, Roger earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Stanislaus State University. He often described himself with a smile as a “jack-of-all-trades and master of none,” though those who knew him best would say he mastered a great many things—especially kindness, craftsmanship, and faith. Throughout his life, Roger held many occupations, including banker, grocer at Liberty Market, real estate agent, and woodshop teacher at Turlock High School. He loved working with his hands and spent many joyful hours woodworking, metal detecting, camping, fishing, collecting treasures, and enjoying the outdoors. Roger accepted Christ at vacation bible school in the seventh grade, and his faith remained the foundation of his life. His spiritual gifts were wisdom and generosity, which he lived out daily. A faithful member of Connecting Point Church of the Nazarene in Denair, Roger gave his time and support to the church’s food pantry, coffee bar, and mission projects that needed financial assistance. Above all, Roger considered himself “highly blessed by God.” He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and especially his great-grandchildren, often saying, “What would I do without these great-grandchildren?”
He is survived by his children: Debra Crawford (Kevin) of Yakima, Washington, and children Michele Turpin (Mark) of Denair California and son, Aaron Feathers (Leslie) of Madera Ranchos, California. Six Surviving grandchildren: Paul Crawford, Alex Crawford, Mackenzie Tschauner, Matthew Turpin, Jessica Quimby and Ann-Marie McGinty. Eleven Surviving Great grandchildren: Sebastian Crawford, Abigail Crawford, Lucas Turpin, Ethan Turpin, Jaxon Quimby, Adeline Quimby, Gavin Quimby, Charlotte Quimby, Christian McGinty, Natalie McGinty and Ryan Tschauner. Roger is also survived by his brothers, Larry Feathers (Barbara) of Loomis, California, and Stanley Feathers (Barbara) of Turlock, California.
Roger’s life was a beautiful testament to hard work, faith, and the joy of family—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Connecting Point Church of the Nazarene in Denair, California. Charitable donations in Roger’s memory may be made to the Connecting Point Church of the Nazarene Food Pantry or the Benevolence Fund.
