Carolyn Joanne Cabacungan passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Carolyn was born in San Jose, California, to Charles and Patricia Hinds. She graduated from Independence High School in San Jose and later made her home in Turlock, where she settled in 1990. Carolyn cherished her family deeply and was especially devoted to her role as a grandmother, finding great joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Cabacungan, and her mother, Patricia Hinds.
Carolyn is survived by her father, Charles Hinds, siblings, Buddy Hinds, Chrissy Erl, and Clifford Hinds; her son, Matthew Cabacungan and his wife, Nicole; and their children, Jason, Elizabeth, Jakob Cabacungan, and Britney Elgen. She is also survived by her son-in-law Shawn Mascorro, and grandchildren Nicole, Shawn, and Patrikk Mascorro.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Mortuary.
