Charley Walter Pace, 92 of Turlock, passed away on January 30th, 2026. He was born on July 4, 1933, in Oklahoma to Lloyd and Mary Pace.
He was a plumber and electrician with Woody’s Poultry Supply before joining the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department where he served for 44 years. He was an avid horseman who spent most vacations on horseback in the Sierras. He also loved his grandchildren more than life itself.
Charley was a member of the Clampers, The Moose Lodge, Black Wolf Clan and the Choctaw Nation. He also served his country in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, Charley is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Pace.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Pace of Turlock, Kathi Schwarberg (Craig) of Turlock, Karen Colvard (Joe) of Turlock, Mark Pace (Ann) of Merced and Joel Pace (Michelle) of Turlock, Annette Hampton (Steve) of Modesto, Donna Burch (Dan) of Turlock and Davina Cipriano (Paul) of Oakdale. He is also survived by his brother, Fred Pace as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, February 12, at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, February 13, also at Allen Mortuary. Interment will follow at North Hilmar Cemetery.
