Larry Daniel Christoffersen passed away on March 04, 2026, in Hughson, California, at the age of 85. Larry was born on July 29, 1940, in Turlock, California. Larry was a loving husband, father,grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished his family deeply and embraced life with full enthusiasm, laughter, and storytelling.
Larry attended Turlock High School where he participated in various sports and where he met his soon to be wife Judy Kennedy. He began his career working with his father at ValChris, Inc. a leader in the turkey industry. He discovered his love for driving trucks at that time while delivering turkeys to processing plants. That love of driving trucks lasted for over 60 years. After Judy graduated, they married and had two daughters Shelley and Danielle.
Larry started Cal Chris trucking, Inc. soon after the girls were born and worked that business for over 40 years. Larry was actively involved in various ministries at Bethel Temple Church where He and Judy worked in the youth ministry and later at Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock serving on the Church elder board. Larry had a passion for camping in his motorhomes with his family. He loved fishing at Pinecrest lake and snow skiing at Dodge Ridge.
Larry and Judy were members of the local Corvette Club and shared a love for attending San Francisco Giant baseball games, NASCAR races and long rides in his 18-wheeler delivering loads. Later on in life, he enjoyed being out in his almond orchards just being a farmer.
Larry is survived by his sister Norma Green; daughters Shelley (John) Silva, Danielle (Michael) Everett; and grandchildren Ryan (Crisnel) Silva, Amanda Silva, Micah (Melina) Silva, Mitchell Everett, Zachary (Grace) Silva, Makayla Silva and 4 great-grandchildren, Lyka, Lance, Hunter and Liana Silva. Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Christoffersen; Parents, Hogar and Elsie Christoffersen; sisters, Carmen Harris, Delores Sondeno and granddaughter Jessica Everett.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:30am followed by a luncheon at Crossroads Church, 1360 N. Johnson Rd, Turlock, CA 95380. Graveside service will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jessica’s House at jessicashouse.org.
