Linda Lee Challberg
1949-2026
Linda Lee Challberg, Beloved mother of 3 Children. Steven Scott (47), Andrew Edward (45), and Noah Lee (42). Linda passed away in Hughson on March 6th, 2026.
Linda was born in Livermore, CA in 1949 to John & Wanda Wickering. She has a younger sister, Cathy, that she grew up with. They moved around a bit, eventually settling down in Turlock in 1963. Linda loved spending time with her Grandmother, Beryl Edwards, who she loved very much. She enjoyed learning how to cook, sew and ride horses. She loved her horse “Ginger”.
Linda attended Turlock High School and graduated in 1967. She then continued her studies at Modesto Junior College, where she met the love of her life, Herbert “Bruce” Challberg. They were married May 23rd, 1970. They would be blessed with children, starting in 1978, Steven Scott, again in 1980, Andrew Edward, and last but not least, Noah Lee in 1983. She always said that their births changed her life for the better.
Linda took special joy in being a “sports supermom”, attending all her sons’ games and giving the games all her gusto. Years later, Linda would become a grandmother herself, to Tabitha Nicole, Wyatt Kyle and Leila Marie. She found joy in learning what they were interested in and sharing the knowledge she gained from the time she spent with her grandmother.
Linda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Beryl Edwards, her father and mother, John & Wanda Wickering, and her husband, Herbert “Bruce” Challberg. Linda is survived by her sons, Steven Scott, Andrew Edward and Noah Lee, Steven’s wife, Sheila, Andrew’s wife, Melissa, and their three children, Tabitha Nicole, Wyatt Kyle and Leila Marie, her sister Cathy, and her nephews Connor, Kyle, and nieces Randee & Lisa Rene McLeod.
Viewing and service for Linda will be held at Allen Mortuary. Viewing will be on the 24th of March from 5 to 7pm. Lindas Service will be on the 26th of March at Allen mortuary following the service graveside will be held at the San Joaquin National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
