Beth Bennett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away this past week.  Beth was born in Chicota, Texas in the winter of 1930 to Richard and Birdie Cox.  She was raised with her two brothers A.R. and James (Jingles).

Beth was a beautiful seamstress.  She created clothes for her family, including prom dresses for her girls and her oldest daughter’s wedding dress.  Beth made the most amazing chocolate cake that even a bakery wanted the recipe!  Fantastic pancakes, delicious berry cobbler and the best Texas Sweet Tea were also Beth’s specialties.  In her lifetime Beth made approximately 20,000 pancakes for the love of her life, her husband, James Gordon Bennett.

Beth was the giver of the best hugs, unconditional love and constant support.  She was always there for her family.

“Beth, Momma and Bommie”¦you are deeply loved and respectable.  We will miss you so much!”

Beth’s family, who look forward to seeing her again one day include her daughters Linda (Hank) Gilliam and Karen (Jerry) Karasick; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Bennett; grandchildren Carrie Williamson and David Gilliam; great grandchildren Clayton and Ashley Williamson and Talyr Vermullien.  Those family members who are now rejoicing with Beth include her husband Jim; son Michael Richard Bennett; parents Richard and Birdie; brothers A.R. Cox and James Cox.

There will be no public services.  Please leave your sweet memories on this website.

  1. Vernon Park says

I have, on occasions, thought about Anna Beth since we last saw Anna Befh in the office several years ago. I fondly remember Jim, Anna Beth and “the girls” as a wonderful, loving family. While saddened to learn of Anna Beths passing, I cannot help but think of how happy they must be to be together again. Blessings to the entire family, with fondness, Vernon Park

  2. Jim and Shirley Stevens says

We are remembering Beth and Jim as our long ago close friends. We had many good times over the years while our children grew up. Along with doing things together and with other friends we built a close relationship. We both worked with Jim for many years in the meat market, and the two JIms worked together before that time which goes way back. We visited Beth at Brandel Manor and know she is in a better place. Our hearts and prayers are with the family as you move on after your loss. GOD bless you all. Jim and Shirley

    What a wonderful life!

Beth Bennett achieved what most of us want out of life; Love and Respect. She had that from her children , husband , grand children and great grandchildren and everyone else in her life.

So many tears flow…a river of Love.
