Jean F. Jepson
August 1932 – December 2020
Jean F. Jepson passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 88 on December 23, 2020.
Jean was born to Hayden and Florence Cartwright in Birmingham England and moved to California in the mid 1960’s. She enjoyed singing and amateur theater with The Lamplighters. She returned to England to marry her beloved husband, Ken Jepson, and brought him to live with her in California in 1967, where they soon put down roots in Modesto.
Jean worked as a secretary at E & J Gallo Winery for over 25 years. Jean and Ken were active members of the Modesto Symphony Guild and enjoyed attending many performances over the years. Jean was very involved with the Symphony Guild’s efforts for fundraising and hospitality, and enjoyed portraying “Mrs. Claus” at the annual Christmas children’s breakfasts. She and Ken enjoyed many travels and trips back to the UK to visit family.
Ken predeceased Jean in 2010. She is survived by her nephew Hayden Smith and his family (San Carlos, CA) and her niece Julie Gardiner and family (Wigston UK).

Due to Covid 19, a memorial service will be postponed until mid 2021 or later.
