Joyce was born in Fresno, CA but lived in Modesto, CA. She was a yard duty at Chrysler School for 37 years. She loved her family and everyone she met. Nanny was very loving and caring. She always left her door open and if you were hungry, she fed you her famous fried chicken and homemade gravy. If you were thirsty, she made you sweet tea.
On March 5, 2022, Joyce passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Jewel Winfred Smith and Maggie Mae Smith, 11 siblings, one son Stephen Lee, and her husband Robert Elmer Lee. She is survived by her five children, Patricia (Lee) Rose, Robert A. Lee, Donald Lee, Kenneth Lee, and Richard Lee; also 61 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1 pm at Allen Mortuary.
