Dear Aunt Karen- Thank you so much for having such a huge impact in my life in such a very short time! I thank you for accepting me in your family and your ability to make me laugh. I regret that I did not know you longer. I so much loved our conversations, especially about your political views! You made me think “out of the box”!

My fondest memory is one of great significance, however. It was when you came to Arizona to be with Peggy and help Renee with Peggy’s last days. The unconditional love and closeness to your sister and niece was awe-inspiring. The special week you were in Arizona was so meaningful and you brought so much love, care and joy. When Peggy was in her last days, you said, “I would have walked to Arizona to be with Peggy if I had too”. I honestly believe you would have walked across America to be with your sister. Nothing was going to keep you from being with Peggy.

You were an amazing women. I thank you for all of your kindness and love in the short tenure that I have known you.

You will always be remembered with kindness and love. I will miss you.

We will all share peace in knowing that you are with family in heaven above.

Oh Aunt Karen, you will be so missed by so many. You were my second mom, and I want to thank you for all that you taught me throughout my life, but especially this last year. You were such a strong, wise woman, with a sense of humor that shined through until the very end. I know you are surrounded by the love and light of God and all of our family members that have crossed over before you. Rest easy, Aunt Karen. I love you.

Aunt Karen, none of us were ready for you to leave, especially so close to the holidays. I will always remember you and your home as somewhere that was always about family and will do my best to carry our traditions along with me. I find comfort in knowing you are together with gramma, and great grandma and grandpa Kruse. Heaven must be such a beautiful place right now. Love you and will forever miss you.
