Ronald “Ron” William Byrne, 68, of Modesto, California, passed away after an extended illness, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, May 25^th.

Ron was born in April of 1950, to Wilbur Lewette Byrne and Ruth Annamae Davis, in San Francisco, CA.  He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1968.  He met the love of his life, Sharon Hansen, in Chico, and they were married December 21, 1975.  After honeymooning in Carmel, they returned to Chico, later settling in Modesto after the birth of their eldest son.  Soon after, they welcomed the birth of their daughter and two more sons.  Ron was a member of the Modesto Junior Chamber of Commerce in the 1980’s and proudly served as Chairman for the 4^th of July Parade in Modesto for many years.  Ron worshipped with his wife at Prescott Evangelical Free Church in Modesto.

Ron was a wholesale hardware salesman in the Central Valley for over 40 years.  He was known and loved for his dedication and loyalty to his customers, and he deeply valued the relationships formed with each of them over the years.  He enjoyed his work, and only retired last year when he became ill.

Ron enjoyed reading, fishing, SF Giants baseball, Nascar, DIY projects, slapstick comedy, Hawaiian shirts, and he loved music of all kinds.  He played the bass guitar and enjoyed “jamming” with friends.  He loved to travel with his wife and adored the time she spent planning their trips to various baseball stadiums around the country.  On the weekends, his garage door was always open to neighbors, family and friends.  Ron was loved and adored by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon; children Ryan (Kathryn), Eva (Chris), Daniel (Katie); Tyler and six grandchildren Kylie, Madison, Ellison, Ruth, Grace, and Owen.

A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Prescott Evangelical Free Church, 3000 Prescott Avenue, Modesto, CA 95350.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.
