Ruth Tucker Pratt

Ruth Tucker Pratt

June 5, 1925 – November 3, 2021

Ruth Pratt went to be with the Lord November 3, 2021.

Born in the small town of McKenzie, Tn. to Eula and Homer Tucker she also had an older brother Herschel Tucker. She married Robert (Bob) Pratt December, 23 1945, who preceded her in death. She had 5 children, Robert (Bobby) Pratt deceased, survived by Cyndi Wolke (Dan), Kathy Berkeley (Jim deceased), Ellen Mueller (Mark) and Diane Ottis (David). Ruth is survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren – with one on the way.

The Pratt’s moved multiple times with Bob’s work, from coast to coast and between, in the U.S. and Canada. Ruth always got the family settled in; packing/unpacking, finding housing, schools and churches wherever they moved. She loved camping with the family from Idaho to Northern California. At home she tended her flower gardens while Bob managed the vegetable garden. Every night there was a balanced hot meal on the table, never packaged dinners, meat, vegetables, homemade bread and often a pie.

When the children were grown Ruth and Bob traveled, daddy said “Ruth’s middle name is Go”. She traveled to 22 countries, Australia, New Zealand, several South American and European countries. She would say, “not bad for a girl raised in a small town from the Tennessee hills”.

Other than her family, her greatest love was the Lord her Savior. She taught her children one of God’s most important messages, unconditional love. She treated friends and spouses with the love of Christ.

Graveside service will be at Turlock Memorial Park at 10:00am on November 13, 2021.   Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00pm at Monte Vista Chapel in the S.E.B. building. In lieu of flowers Ruth requested donations to West Side Ministries, 950 Columbia St., Turlock Ca. 95380 or the Gideons.

I experienced the unconditional love of Ruth. Although I was not privileged to know her well, every encounter was one of acceptance and love. Truly a lovely lady in every way.
