Troy Edward Old, 52, a loving husband and father of three boys, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at home in Turlock, California after a long battle with cancer. He will always be remembered as “KIND OF A BIG DEAL”.

Troy was born January 31, 1967 to Richard and Judy in Castro Valley, California. He worked in the construction waterworks industry 30+ years with Groeniger & Company, Teichert Construction and HD Supply. His ability to connect with people was like no other.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Teresa Old, his three boys, Bailey (21), Connor (18), Grant (15), his parents Rich and Vickie Old, many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, favorite nieces and nephews (you know who you are). He was considered the “favorite” uncle and loved his family and friends so much. Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Connolly-Venti.  Troy had a huge passion for life and he lived it to the fullest. He was always the life of the party. This remarkable man that we all loved so much, will forever live in our hearts.

Services and a celebration of Troy’s life will be held at Larsa Banquet Hall, 2107 Monte Vista Ave, Denair on Wednesday, September 4th at 11:00 am.

If you so choose, in lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to one of the following: A Venmo account has been set-up under the account of @TheOldBoys123 or please donate to the EMC Cancer Treatment Center, Turlock in Memory of Troy Old.

Such a sweet sweet man who just breathed joy. You didn’t have to know him long to just be included and welcomed in with a giant teddy bear of a hug. Saying Troy will be missed is such an understatement. We are praying for Our Lord to be with your family as you walk you through the coming days.

  21. Eric and Kathryn Nyquist says

Troy WAS the life of the party. Eric and I have been remembering him over the last few days and every moment that comes to mind is full of fun, laughter, and generosity. Long before we became parents Eric and I always said to one another, “if we could do half as good a job as Troy and Teresa we’d be doing great.” Now that we have a son we hope we can be as warm and wise as Troy was. When Troy opened his arms to hug us or opened his home to host us we felt so welcomed and so loved. He made us laugh on dance floors and in drive-thrus and we will always remember him as squeezing the juice out of life and being an incredible friend and family man. We will miss him.

I met Troy – Big T – 24 years ago in 1995. Teresa worked at E&J Gallo Winery and I had just started there. They were always inviting friends over for dinner parties and we hung out at our softballs games too. Troy was just a blast to be around and had the absolute biggest heart. The way he always treated Teresa so awesome and welcomed all her friends over any time of the day and night. Teresa and Troy were in our wedding and to this day that means so much to me. Troy would do little things like have some drinks waiting for us to know he was thinking of all his friends. He truly was one in a million and this is without a doubt one of those cases where we lost one of the best humans we could ever have the pleasure of being friends with. We will always love, miss and think of you my friend Troy.
