William Ellis “Bill” Condray

About the Service

Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, October 5th from 10:00 am to Noon.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Turlock Memorial Park.

William Ellis “Bill” Condray was born in Missouri on April 3, 1938 to William and Lorene (Amos) Condray.

Bill was employed over 42 years for Gates Rubber Company as a sales representative.  He was an avid photographer and member of the Commemorative Air Force, Sacramento Delta Squadron.   He was committed to the Boy Scouts for over 60 years, including earning the rank of Eagle Scout while in scouting and becoming a scout advisor, earning the Silver Beaver Award.  After retirement Bill returned to photography and became a free-lance photographer for the Carmichael Times, taking photos of local parades and events in the area.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dolly Condray of Carmichael, CA, his son William Condray of Laughlin, NV and sister Beverly Condray of St. Louis, MO., two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bill was an avid private pilot for over 64 years flying single engine, multi engine and jet engine aircraft.  Bill also volunteered and participated annually with the air shows in and around the Sacramento area.  Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, October 5th from 10am to Noon.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at Turlock Memorial Park.

  9. Thoughts and prayers to the Condray family. Bill was a true salesman and “sold” me on the Commemorative Air Force 10 years ago. We had photography and scouting in common and I will miss his smile, laughter and positive outlook. Fly High and Free Bill!

  10. My heartfelt condolences to Dolly and the family. Bill was a true friend and I remember sharing many stories and laughter when we got together. He and I were airplane fans, any type. I will miss him greatly.
