Jerry F. Jerner August 13, 1938 - January 14, 2026

Date of Service

January 26, 2026

Jerry F. Jerner was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on January 14th in Hughson, California. Jerry was born in Turlock in 1938 and spent the early part of his life in the Turlock community. He was the youngest of three sons and grew up around his family’s concrete business. Family summers were spent camping and fishing—activities he carried on with his own family and friends throughout his life.

Sports were important to Jerry. He played baseball and football at Turlock High School, excelling at both. After graduating, he went on to play center for quarterback Tom Flores at the University of the Pacific.

In 1960, Jerry married the love of his life, Mary Strom, and they shared sixty-five wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed their early years together before welcoming their daughters, Sheri in 1965 and Julie in 1966. Jerry’s career included sales and trucking jobs, but his favorite role was managing Jerner Boat and Sport Shop. He retired from Bronco Wine in 1995.

Jerry loved watching his girls participate in sporting events and later took great joy in supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 2004, Mary retired, and they moved to the country, where they lived until 2024, when they became residents of Samaritan Village.

Jerry was a charter member of Monte Vista Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Judith Jerner; his brothers, Oscar and Jim Jerner; and his nephew, Keith Jerner. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters Sheri (Eric) Spycher and Julie (Jim) Vieira; sisters-in-law Marlene Jerner and Elaine Gayle; grandchildren Bryce (Deb) Spycher, Lyndzie (Jeff) Blum, Kaisa (Evan) Hudelson, Victoria (Cory) Paris, Brock (Kaitlynn) Vieira, and Paige Vieira; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at Turlock Memorial Park on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 9:30a.m. with the memorial service to follow, at 11:00 a.m. at Monte Vista Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Westside Ministries. Condolences may be shared at www.allenmortuary.com.
