In beloved memory of Emley Hamayak Lazar, 90 years old, born January 3, 1934 in Baghdad, Iraq. She passed away June 3, 2024, in Modesto, CA. She attended school in Baghdad, Iraq.
Emley became a homemaker at age 18 when she married Wallace Lazar in Baghdad, Iraq in October 1951. Went on to bring 5 beautiful children into the world- Mary, Therese, Anthony, Anita and John. After coming to the United States in 1972 in Oakland, she became the partner to her husband’s business while getting the children through their schooling. Later they came to settle in Modesto where she saw 4 of her children get married and the births of her 3 grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Emley is preceded death by her precious husband Wallace and her beloved son Anthony. She leaves behind her children Mary, Therese, Anita (Kirk), John (Indiana), and her daughter-in-law Rebecca, along with her grandchildren Esther, Adam, and Bernadette, along with her great granddaughter Makenzie.
We will have a funeral mass at St. Thomas Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 12 noon followed by gravesite prayer and burial at Turlock Memorial Park in Turlock, CA.
