I was sorry to learn of Tony’s passing. I’m sure you have many cherished memories of your life together. It’s always too soon to let them go. My sympathies to you and your family. May God’s peace be with you.Keeping you in prayer.
Tony was the best of the best in the newspaper world. He went to work for me at the Manteca Bulletin in about 1973 before proving himself and going on to the Modesto Bee and the Turlock Irrigation District.
he had the Best stories and a fantastic attitude toward his job and toward the paper. I was sorry to lose him to the Bee as I watched him open his Wellington Station eatery in Turlock. I got to talk to Tony some three weeks ago on my cell phone when we were looking for the Wellington Station that he had sold. So sorry we didnt go the extra mile to go by and visit him and Dorothy, not expecting him to pass away so soon.
Our best to Dorothy and the kids. I have written a column today about Tony passing through here on his career journey. It was a joy to have known him and to have worked with him witnessing his writing talent and his attitude with the public.
