Our beloved mother and grandmother Barbara Carroll Gustafson was born to Thomas and Edith Osborne on June 6, 1943 in Lynwood, California. She passed away on March 24, 2026.

Barbara graduated from Sonora High School and then attended Modesto Junior College as well as Pepperdine University. She worked as a secretary for Stanislaus County for a few years and then became an Admitting Technician at Emanuel Hospital. She and her husband Stan, bought and operated Turlock Health Food Store for twenty-five years. More importantly, Barbara was an amazing mother and grandmother. Barbara loved to travel, read, and make scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Turlock Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Stanley, her sister Myrna Westmoreland and brother in law Raymond Westmoreland, and her daughter in law Keri Gustafson. She is survived by her daughter Inger Risenhoover of Denton, Texas, her son Derek Gustafson of Riverbank, California, and step son James (Lisa) Gustafson. She was also “Nana” to her granddaughters Karinna (Adam), Lauren, Lilly, Savannah (Jonah), Logan, Madison, and Landry. She was also great grandmother to Cooper and Clara Ann Beals. Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew her. At her request there will not be any service.
