Betty Mae Jaye Spears Guaglianone Thompson, 87, passed away on November 29, 2023. Betty was born January 5, 1936 to Owen and Ida Jaye in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Betty worked for the Hughson Unified School District as a bus driver for 27 years. She owned and operated Special Occasions Florist in Hughson. Betty loved God, her family, her pets, helping others, gardening, and travelling in her RV. She was a member of the Hughson I.O.O.F., Hughson Garden Club, and attended Hughson Pentecostal Church and Modesto Calvary Temple. Betty volunteered for Outreach for the Homeless, the Modesto Pregnancy Center, and Modesto Hospice.
Betty is preceded in death by her daughter Rhonda Spears; parents Owen and Ida Jaye; husbands Julius Spears and Daniel Guaglianone; brothers Charles Jaye, Jim Jaye, Bill Jaye and her sister Ozella Williams.
She is survived by her husband Harold Thompson; daughters Pamela Carr of LaGrange, CA, Terry Spears of Hughson, CA, and Sandra Spears of Coos Bay, OR.; daughters from marriage Karen Freeman, and Sandra Lemings; son-in-law Rod Carr; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Viewing will be at Allen Mortuary on Dec. 6th from 4:00-6:00. The service will be Dec. 7th at Allen Mortuary at 1:00.
