Bob was born in Paige, Oklahoma to William and Viola Barnard and passed away at the age of 89. He moved to California at the age of 13 and joined the United States Navy in 1951. Bob served for 4 years in active service and was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1958. In 1953 he married Lois Garrett and they had four children and shared 70 years of marriage. He worked as a cement mason for 35 years and later enjoyed farming where he raised beef cattle, bailed hay and raised almonds for many years.
In his retirement he enjoyed remaining active by getting out of the house and socializing with others; he never missed one of his Ceres High School reunions. Bob treasured time spent with family and never missed a family gathering.
Bob is survived by his wife Lois Barnard; children Jeff (Odette) Barnard, Mike (Lori) Barnard, Linda (Dave) Wallace and Brenda (Jim) Spiegel; grandchildren Randy Barnard, Kevin Barnard, Colleen Johnson, Brian Barnard, Shelly Ray, Adam Wallace, Sara Ange, Nickolas Jorge and Devin Jorge; and twenty-one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Jim Barnard and Mildred Burwell.
Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will also be at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10:00a.m. with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
