Catrina C. Tamayo was born on March 22, 1933 in Dona Ana, New Mexico and died on November 11, 2023 at the age of 90.
Besides raising her four daughters with husband Carlos, she also quit school early to raise her brother and sisters. Catrina enjoyed cooking, camping, painting and holiday family gatherings (her tamales will be missed). She was a school cafeteria cook and later promoted to cafeteria manager for 28 years. “Mrs. Tamayo” is fondly remembered by Oro Loma School alumni.
Catrina is preceded in death by her ex-husband and companion Carlos F. Tamayo; daughters Christine (Kenneth) Duplantis, Jennie (Donald) Clark, Brenda (Dennis) Manzanedo and Mary Carrillo; grandchildren Christopher Duplantis, Kevin Clark, Lauren Campbell, Kristen Serena, Ashley DeWees, and Erin Baldwin; and nine beautiful great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
