Clida “Jean” Costa passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 85. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, Jean lived a life rooted in faith, family, and creativity. She was a cherished daughter of our Heavenly Father.

Jean was born on March 14, 1940, to Cliff and Ida Ramos and grew up in Turlock, California. She married Manuel Mello in 1959, and together they raised two children, Jenelle and Doug. In 2002, Jean married Don Costa and lovingly embraced his children, Debbie and Donny, as her own.

Throughout her life, Jean found joy in a variety of hobbies—yard sales, decorating, painting, and crafting among them. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, artistic talent, deep love for her family, and unwavering faith in Jesus.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Ida Ramos; her sisters, Elaine Johnsen and Beverly Fernandes; and her husband, Don Costa.

She is survived by her brother, Bob Ramos; her children, Jenelle Guinn (Bob) and Doug Mello (Teri); her stepchildren, Debbie Cannella (John) and Donny Costa (Kim); 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, followed by a private family burial. A Celebration of Life will be held afterward at Crossroads Church, 1360 N. Johnson Road, Turlock. All are welcome to join in celebrating Jean’s life and legacy.
