Dan was born on May 8, 1951 in San Jose, CA. He was the only son born to Arnold and Irene Metzger.

Dan was a husband and best friend. He was a son, father and grandfather. Dan will be missed greatly. He had a good sense of humor and a loving family. His dog “Brownie” misses him and cries for him.

Dan served in the US Army and was a member of the Teamsters and Moose Lodge.

He was a dedicated truck driver 38 years for various companies: Yellow Freight, Pie, Clawson Rock Transport and the last company he worked for was Bertolotti.

He is survived by his wife Jocelyn Metzger, his children, T.J. Metzger, Daniel Irving Metzger Jr. and Dawn Metzger, his mother Irene (Pete) Metzger, his sisters Joyce Metzger and Melody Heath. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tommy, Matthew & Jacob Metzger, Matthew & Daniel Mulvaney, Haven Christy, Dawn, Jamie & Johnny Metzger, Skky & Daniel Metzger III. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Metzger.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 1:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary Event Center, 239 N. Broadway in Turlock.

    Dan! Dan! Dan! There is no words to describe how I feel. We might have butted heads but we always works through our differences. We knew we loved each other but we were also hot headed people… I miss your randomness! Out of the world stories. You are very loved and missed deeply!
