Dave Giller of Modesto, California has passed away at the age of 61. He was born to William and Carol Giller as one of nine children. He worked as a mechanic for 40 years. He married Jeanne Chalupnik and together they raised their two children, Jack and Ruben.
Dave is known for his booming voice and willingness to help anyone he can. A lifelong resident of Modesto, Dave began working as a mechanic at the age of 15. He enjoyed attending Renaissance Fairs, off-roading, camping, traveling with his wife Jeanne, watching movies, and most of all, spending time with his granddaughters Clara, Charlotte, Laney, and Lacey. He was a member of the Merced Runnabouts and the Modesto Ridgerunners. We will miss you, Papa.
Dave is survived by his wife Jeanne, his two sons Jack Shackelford of Turlock, CA and Ruben Shackelford of Turlock, CA. His siblings Sue Green of Stevenson, Ca, Patricia Giller Isley of Oakridge, OR, Linda LeCain of Sacramento, CA, Doris Mena of Eugene, OR, Alice Smith of AZ, Jennifer Morales of WA, and Jeanette Edwards of MX. Granddaughters Clara, Charlotte, Laney, and Lacey.
He is preceded by his brother Billy Giller.
A Memorial Service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, November 11, 2023, starting at 1:00pm.
