Dorothy Fialho

Dorothy Fialho of Turlock, Ca. passed away peacefully on Friday May 8, 2026. She was born on May 26, 1932, in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Dorothy moved to southern California in 1946 & later settled in San Jose, California. While in San Jose, she completed business courses and later worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation.
She married her husband Manuel Fialho in 1961 and moved to the central valley. Together they enjoyed a shared interest in rodeo, outdoors and the western lifestyle. Dorothy was a member of COBRA (California Open Barrel Racing Assn), GRA & WPRA (Girls Rodeo Assn preceding the WPRA), CCA (California Cowboys Assn preceding CCPRA). She participated in many equestrian events throughout her life.
She is survived by her sister: Virginia Uban of Bridgeport Tx. daughters: Barbara Cotta (Bobby) of Hilmar, Ca and Carolyn Thomas (Doug) of Gustine, Ca. stepdaughter: Debbie Gonsalves (Joe) of Modesto, Ca.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; niece Jody Villa of Bridgeport Tx. and nephew Frank Culver of Yuba City, Ca. and great nieces & nephews.
Memorial service to be held at Allen Mortuary at 247 N Broadway in Turlock on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 1:00p.m. Immediately following the memorial service, Dorothy’s family will be hosting a reception at Carnegie Arts Center 250 N. Broadway in Turlock, directly across the street.
