Duane Kenneth Larson “Chief” passed away on October 7, 2023, with his loving family by his side in Turlock, CA. Duane is joining his wife, Shirley, of 64 years who he loved dearly. He is survived by his children: Terri (Gaylon) Wade of Denair, CA, Diane Light of Ceres, CA, Julie (Jim) Thomas of Columbia Falls, MT, John (Terry) Larson of Denair, CA, and Cathy (Matthew) Scott of Denair, CA; and sister Donna (Jerry) Ellman. Duane was preceded in death by his mother Ellen and Kenneth Larson, and his sister Carol Earnest.
He was a devoted and loving grandfather to all of his 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Duane attended and graduated from Turlock High School. He retired from Turlock Irrigation District. He served faithfully in the Denair Lions Club for 58 years and 50 years in the fire service, 30 of those years as the Chief. He was also a member of Sons In Retirement. Duane will be tremendously missed by his friends and family.
Visitation on Monday, October 16 from 4-7pm at Allen Mortuary. Funeral Service on Tuesday, October 17 at 1:00pm at Allen Mortuary. Private graveside to follow.
