Edward (Ed) Ray Ellington passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. He was born June 11, 1933 in San Dimas, California, the son of Albert and Daisy (Turner) Ellington.
A graduate of Livingston High School, Class of 1951, he married Barbara Rafatti, the love of his life, in 1956. They built their home in Hilmar, California, where they have lived for 67 years. He farmed their land and raised turkeys for a living until he retired
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, with whom he shared decades of devotion. Together, they raised three children: Rick (Juanita), Ken, and Karen (Richard). He was a proud grandfather to four and great-grandfather to eleven – each of whom brought him great joy. He is also survived by his sister, Violet, and brother, George (June). Ed is preceded in death by his infant son, Steven, his parents, Albert and Daisy, his brother, Ralph, and sister-in-law, June.
A memorial service will be held to honor Ed’s life at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, California, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Ed will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
