Gurbax Singh Shokar was born on April 29, 1940, in India. He spent his early years farming in India before moving to California in 1988.

While he lived a simple life, his love for his family and his strong Sikh faith remained constant. He was a devoted member of the Peach Street Sikh Temple in Livingston.

He is survived by his children: Sukhjinder Kaur Rai, Avtar Singh Shokar, and Zorabar Singh Shokar; ten grandchildren; and one sibling.

A Sikh funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, California.
