Jason Sterling Hillstead
September 1969 – November 2025
Jason Sterling Hillstead was born in the Central Valley and spent his childhood in Turlock, where he formed lifelong friendships and a deep connection to his community. A proud graduate of Livingston High School, Class of 1988, Jason enjoyed wrestling during his school years and carried that same spirit of determination throughout his life.
Jason was a faithful Raiders fan and an enthusiastic follower of WWE wrestling. He loved being around people—never meeting a stranger—and was known for his genuine kindness, trusting nature, and warm heart. He greatly enjoyed social gatherings and had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome. Simple in his needs and steadfast in his character, Jason was someone you could always count on.
Service to others was a cornerstone of his life. Jason devoted countless hours to volunteer work in civil service, always eager to lend a hand wherever he was needed.
Jason is survived by his brother Anthony Hillstead and Michelle Sandoval of Turlock, CA. His sister Alana and Bryan Metcalf of Killeen, TX. An uncle Dewayne Bond of Angels Camp, CA. A cousin Sirena Bond of Turlock, CA. Nieces Elisabeth Metcalf and Adelyn Hillstead.
Nephews Justin (Bridget / Corbin) Metcalf, Jacob (Elizabeth / Weston) Hillstead and Tyler Hillstead (Madison Simmons).
Jason is preceded in death by his mother Selma Hillstead and brother Troy Stiles.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary.
