Jerald John (Jerry) Hegg, 71, was born in Huron, South Dakota on February 23, 1952. He attended Santa Ana Jr. College after graduating from Tustin High School in Orange County, Ca. In 1972 Jerry started his own business in the yard maintenance field eventually becoming one of the Central Valley’s busiest Landscape Contractors. He enjoyed working with his hands, starting with having a leather working business to help support himself through college to building his own pottery studio after he retired. He married Patricia (Patte) Rajean Towers on November 9, 1974. They met while both were students at Santa Ana Community College. They met in September of 1971 and had their first date in November of 1971. He was active in Boy Scouts of America for many years where he happily went camping, fishing and rock climbing with the boys. He led Bible Study groups from high schoolers through middle agers.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patte, and three children Kelly Rae Swanson (John), Casey Adam Hegg, and Kevan Brodie Hegg (Whitney). He has 5 wonderful grandchildren: Elyse Miranda Swanson, Samuel John Swanson, Josephine Rae Swanson, Molly Marcelle Hegg and Mabel Quinn Hegg.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be on May 13, 2023, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at: The Well Community Fellowship, 2500 Claus Road, Modesto, Ca 95355
