Lena Frances Ramirez passed away peacefully at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House on April 16, 2024 at the age of 93. Lena was born August 24, 1930 in San Pablo, California to her parents Joe and Mary Duart. She was the baby of the family, being the 14th child born to her parents.

Lena grew up in San Pablo and Richmond, California which is where she would eventually meet the love of her life Salvador Ramirez. Lena and Sal were married in Richmond, California on February 5, 1949.

Lena and Sal had four children Kathy, Carol, Johnny and Joann. They raised their family together in Turlock in a neighborhood full of friends and families they created lasting memories with. During this time, Lena also worked at the Armour turkey plant where she met many life-long friends. Lena was always smiling and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved reading, playing games such as Skip-bo, or LCR and would never pass up a good dessert, especially ice cream.

Lena took pride in her family, teaching her children and grandchildren the value of hard work and to always have fun. She enjoyed family gatherings, and loved keeping family traditions alive. Lena had the best smile, biggest heart and will be missed by so many. Her legacy will live on within those that loved her.

Lena is survived by her children Kathy Silva, Carol Smith (Don), Johnny Ramirez, Joann Curtiss (Don), 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband Salvador Ramirez.

Funeral services will be held Friday April 26, 2024 at 10:00am at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, and burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Viewing will be Thursday April 25, 2024 at 4:00-7:00 pm.
