Lucille Irene (Lucy) Honnette October 18, 1926 - October 12, 2025

Lucille “Lucy” Honnette passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 12, 2025, at the age of 98, just six days short of her 99th birthday.
Born in 1926 on her grandparents’ farm near East Chain, Minnesota, to Walter and Ella Magnuson. Lucy accepted Jesus as her Savior and Lord at church camp and developed a strong faith that guided her words and actions. She deeply loved her family enjoying time with them. Her resilient spirit was shaped by farm life during the Depression years and beyond. After graduating from Grant Township Consolidated School, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a registered nurse through St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, MN.

In 1948, she married Everett Honnette, beginning a life of love and partnership that lasted 57 years. They farmed in Minnesota before moving to Denair, California, in 1952 where they raised five children—John, Dan, Sandy, Randy, and Norman—while managing their family farm. Lucy worked many years as a nurse at Emanuel Hospital and later at a doctor’s office, caring deeply for her patients and the community. After a wonderful career, she enjoyed 48 years as a volunteer at Emanuel Hospital. She and Everett were founding members of Cornerstone Covenant Church where she was deeply involved and blessed by many friendships. Her kindness, humor, and love for the Lord touched all who knew her.

Lucy is survived by her children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and spouses, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, her sister Sharon and grand-nephew Kyle. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett, son Norman, parents Walter and Ella, sister Phyllis, niece Tamara and several infant siblings.

A celebration of life will be held at Cornerstone Covenant Church on November 22, 2025 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family desires donations to Billy Graham, Samaritan’s Purse or Cornerstone Covenant Church in Lucy’s memory.
