Mae Jean Hedberg
April 29, 1933 – January 6, 2026
Mae Jean was born in Woodland, Idaho to Alva J. and Mary Marguerite (Domecq) Haile. She graduated from Denair High School in 1951. She married Glenn E. Warnock in 1952 and they lived in Modesto for six years and then on the East coast for nine years. They had two children, Dora Renee Warnock and Richard Glenn Warnock. Mae moved to Turlock in 1976 and married Wilbur Daniel Hedberg in 1979.
She worked for Farmers Insurance Group in Merced from 1951-1953, for Security State Bank from 1954-1956, IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, Stanislaus County Office in Modesto and a surgeon’s office in Turlock for 20 years. Mae was active in Turlock Covenant Church where she taught children’s Sunday School, active in Covenant Women Organization and was a charter member of the Cancer Support Group and co-chairman of a serving group.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents; and is survived by her husband Wilbur Daniel Hedberg; two children Dora Renee Warnock of Modesto and Richard Glenn (Glenda) Warnock of Turlock; two stepdaughters Lynn Hedberg Tomsha (Steve) of Texas, Jan Richard (Jack) of Texas; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings Marie Starn of Turlock, Maxine Kisling of Turlock, Marlene Fleeger of Lompoc, CA and Myrle Wall of New York, NY.
Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday January 14, 2026 from 5:00-7:00p.m. Celebration of life will be held at Covenant Living of Turlock, Berg Hall on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private at Turlock Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society or Hope Church at 316 Laurel St. Turlock, CA 95380.
