Maria Esther Romo

Maria Esther Romo, born July 2, 1953, passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2026, at the age of 72. Maria was born and raised in Jalostotitlán, México, and after getting married, she came to the United States with her husband, Salvador Romo, where she built a life rooted in family, love, and resilience. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence filled every room she entered.
She is survived by her five children: Salvador Romo, Sergio Romo, Erica Rodriguez, Oscar Romo, and Lionel Romo; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her brothers Juan De la Torre and Antonio De la Torre; her sisters Asunción (De la Torre) Lopez and Gloria (De la Torre) Carrasco; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Romo, her beloved sons Juanito Romo and Fernando Romo, her father Antonio de la Torre, her mother Maria Luisa De la Torre, and her brother Pascual De la Torre.
Maria loved spending time with her family, laughing, telling jokes, and creating memories. She was crazy in the best way —full of humor and laughter — yet she was also as tough as they come. She enjoyed being outside gardening and taking walks through town. She loved Bingo and went any chance she could, enjoying the excitement and fun it brought her.
Strong, fearless, and unwavering, she was the heart and backbone of her family. Maria Esther Romo will be remembered for her humor, her strength, her deep love for her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy of laughter, resilience, and unconditional love will live on through generations
A Visitation/Rosary will be held at Allen Mortuary 247 N. Broadway, Turlock, California on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4-7pm with the Rosary starting at 6:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 12:00pm
A Burial will immediately follow Funeral Mass to Turlock Memorial Park 575 N. Soderquist Road Turlock, California
