Maria Guadalupe Castro Fuentes
November 1933 – December 2025
Maria Guadalupe Castro Fuentes was born in Michoacan, Mexico in a rural farming community and eventually immigrated to the United States to settle in Modesto, California. She worked various jobs as a migrant farm worker and line work for Tri-Valley Growers as well as Seneca Foods for which she retired from. She worked diligently as a single mother to her only child, Manuel Zaragoza Castro; eventually becoming grandmother and helped raise four grandchildren all who went on to graduate university, and one going on to become a physician. She enjoyed gardening and collecting decorative figurines.
Guadalupe is survived by Manuel Zaragoza Castro, son, and four grandchildren: Lupita, Manuel, Elena, and Juan Zaragoza. In addition, two living siblings Franciso Castro Fuentes and Victoria Castro Rodriquez. She is preceded in death by her parents Emilia Fuentes and Eligio Castro and three siblings.
Viewing will be at Allen Mortuary on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4:00-6:00p.m. with rosary to begin at 6:00p.m.
A Burial will take place in Michoacan, Mexico at a later date.
