Marieda Joyce Womack Chavez passed away at Emanuel Medical Center after battling an extended illness that took her life at the age of 59. She enjoyed playing bingo and being around family.
She is survived by her husband Felipe Chavez; brothers and sister Francis Chavez, Cecil Womack, Micheal Womack, and Butch Hiliard; brother-in-law Miguel Chavez and her loving dog Chispas.
Marieda also leaves behind her loving grandkids, nieces, nephews, and great-nephews and nieces: Sabrina Orozco (niece), Albino Orozco (nephew), Miguel Chavez Jr. (nephew), Marie Lua (niece), Jorge Reynoso Jr. (nephew), Albino Orozco Jr. (grandson), Andres Orozco (grandson), Ariana Orozco (granddaughter), Jorge Reynoso Jr. (great-nephew), Jose Lua Jr. (great-nephew), Jesus Lua (great-nephew), Jasmine Lua (great-niece), Joselyn Lua (great-niece), Aaliyah Chavez (great-niece) and great-great nephew Xavier Lua.
Marieda is well known for her memorabilia of Mickey & Minnie Mouse. Marieda’s heart was bigger than life. Marieda’s family are heartbroken, but grateful that God has taken his angel home.
Marieda’s viewing will be at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 6pm and church service will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 11am followed by the funeral.
