Martha “Jeannie” Covert (Bond), 62, of Ceres passed away surrounded by her family on May 9, 2019. She was born in San Francisco, CA on July 7, 1956 and the first born to Tommy and Joanne Bond. She graduated from Ceres High School in 1975 and went on to become a talented cosmetologist.

Jeannie was known for her impeccable sewing skills, as she made many things for her family throughout the years, even passing along that skill to others in her family. Jeannie was also known for being the artistic one of the family. She could draw anything and bake and decorate cakes like a pro. Most of all Jeannie will be remembered for her loving personality and her caring and giving nature.

Jeannie is survived by her brother Tommy (Melanie) Bond of Denair and her two sisters Cathy Harland of Hughson and Nadine Bond of Jamestown; three stepchildren Richard Covert, Kathy Covert and Alice DeBerry, and her beloved nieces and nephews Jessica Campos, Shylo Pimlott, Bret Bond, Jacob Harland, Tanya Harland and Natasha Basso. Jeannie was preceded in death by both of her parents and her loving husband Richard Earl Covert.

A celebration of Jeannie’s life will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 1:00p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Covenant Care Hospice.

    Jeannie I’m so sorry that I didn’t see you on that Monday morning. My heart just aches for it. I have so many precious memories of us You were my first best friend and the first big sister I have had. There were quite a few firsts for me with you. My first cigarette my first fake I D my first nightclub with Male strippers oh what fun we had ,and not to forget my first driver’s license that mom asked you to take me when I didn’t know, you tricked me that day. I’m so gonna miss you. I know we lost touch for a while but I will always love you and your pretty smile. Be with Richard and your parents and grandparents you will be missed and In my prayers always, your friend Mary Garcia. and could you please hug my mom for me.

    I am so sad to hear that you are gone … you were one of my sister’s best friends the cool friend let me go to and would even come pick me up when Mary wasn’t home take me to her house in Hughson do my hair and put makeup on me make some cookies and just hang out like sisters do. We would drive all around and her jeep that she loved. I will miss all those things about her I love you sis give my mom a big hug for me

    Jeannie, we will miss you so much! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, loving sister-in-law that always accepted me and took me into the family with open arms..I am also so glad I got to see that beautiful smile and tell you I love you once more…until we meet again sis…
