Mary Carlson was born January 6, 1928 and died December 15, 2020 in Turlock, California.

Mary was born, Mary Rebecca Blinn in Kansas City, Kansas to Samuel and Bell Blinn on January 6, 1928.  Mary moved with her parents to Patterson, CA the 1930’s were she graduated from Patterson High School in 1945.

Mary and Keith Ellis Carlson, were married at the Missionary Covenant Church in Patterson on December 28, 1947. Mary and Keith had seven children, Glen, Becky, Ted, Ed, Mark, Cliff and Ralph.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Keith in December 1987, granddaughter Jennifer in November 2014 and son Ted in June 2019.

Mary was a grandmother of eight grandchildren and great grandmother of nine.

Mary was a wonderful wife and an extra busy mom to all her children! Mary also was a great help to Keith on the farm.  She would often go into town to pick up parts for farm equipment repair.  As her children entered school, Mary helped with classroom parties and always attended the sports games of her sons.

Mary was very involved in her church, Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock. She taught Children’s Sunday School and worked in the AWANA, children’s mid-week program.  She served in the MVC women’s ministry and the church hospitality ministry.

Mary moved to Turlock after Keith’s death and lived independently until 2014 when she moved into St. Thomas Retirement Center in Turlock.  She loved being with old friends and making new friends. The residents and staff at St. Thomas helped her quickly feel at home.

After a fall this Spring, she needed to enter into Hospice.  She was able to remain at St. Thomas until she passed through heaven’s gates peacefully early Monday morning.

There will be viewing from 9:30-Noon on Monday morning December 21^st at Allen Mortuary in Turlock.  A graveside service will be held at the Patterson Cemetery at 1:30 Monday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Monte Vista Chapel Missions Ministry, care of Monte Vista Chapel, 1619 E. Monte Vista Ave., Turlock, CA, 95382.
