Robert “Bob” Brunton of Turlock, CA passed peacefully on August 17, 2023, with his family at his side after a long struggle with Parkinson’s/heart disease. Robert was born in San Francisco, CA. He was a graduate of El Camino High School in Sacramento and Cal Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s in animal husbandry, Class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He managed meat processing companies, which included Safeway in Los Angeles, Bar-S Foods in Seattle, and Foster Farms Turkey plant in Turlock. Robert also worked as a Real Estate Appraiser for 19 years before his retirement in 2013.
Robert married Marilyn Crowe on August 5, 1967, and produced two children together, Beverly Crain of Delhi, CA and Scott Brunton of Atascadero, CA. Robert is survived by his sister Elisabeth Padula of Sacramento, his wife Marilynn of Turlock, his son and daughter, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter Emily. His daughter Beverly (Christopher) produced four grandchildren: Colette (Daniel) Valdez, Chaelan (Jimena) Brunton, Andrew, and Alison. His son Scott produced three more grandchildren: Weber, Lily, and Breck. He was predeceased by his parents John Mott and Virginia Ann Brunton, and his brothers John and Charles Brunton.
Robert enjoyed cruising the world, train rides, and Disneyland with grandchildren. He loved to vacation with his family in Morro Bay and Lake Tahoe. Most Fridays at lunchtime he would be found with his wife at Bistro 234 enjoying a glass of chardonnay. He was an avid lover of Cliff House popovers, chocolate chip cookies, and donuts. He will be deeply missed.
There will be a service to honor Bob at the First Presbyterian Church in Turlock, CA on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at noon.
