Saralee Ulrich September 3, 1935 - September 25, 2025

Saralee Ulrich
September 3, 1935 – September 25, 2025

Saralee Ulrich was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on September 3, 1935. In 1942, at the age of 7, she moved with her family to Keyes, California. She graduated with honors from Turlock High School in 1953, earning scholarships from both the Soroptimists and the Associated Women of Modesto Junior College. She later completed her degree at Sacramento State University in 1957.

Saralee dedicated her career to education, teaching Home Economics at Hughson High School until her retirement in 1995. Deeply involved in school life, she supported countless student events, including the annual football and athletic banquets. She also served in leadership roles at the state level for the Future Homemakers of America organization.

In 1975, Saralee was honored as “Mother of the Year” by the Hughson High School football team — a tribute that reflected not only her professional dedication but also her role as a loving mother. Together with her husband of 65 years, Don Ulrich (who preceded her in death in 2022), she raised three devoted and accomplished sons.

Saralee is survived by her children: Donald T. Ulrich Jr., Dirk A. Ulrich, and Douglas A. Ulrich; her siblings: Glenn Ritchey, Sally Phillips, and Margaret Ritchey; her grandchildren: Mandy Chevoya, Carly Rodgers, Ashton Ulrich, Chase Ulrich, Paige Levy, Allie Williamson, Mia Ulrich, and Otto Ulrich; and her great-grandchildren: Westley Chevoya, Forrest Chevoya, Colton Rodgers, Maeve Rodgers, Rory Ulrich, Cala Ulrich, and Reese Williamson.

Memorial contributions in Saralee’s memory may be made to Covenant Care Hospice.

A celebration of Saralee’s life will be held and the information will be added when finalized.
